About Our Pastor…
Bishop Levi S. Murray is the Pastor and visionary of Jobe’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Swan Quarter, NC. He is anointed and appointed for this season. Bishop Murray was born July 14, 1968, to Minnie C. Murray and the late Thomas F. Murray. He grew up in Swan Quarter, North Carolina. He is the youngest of eleven children. He attended and graduated from Mattamuskeet High School in 1986. He also attended Elizabeth City State University and Pitt Community College.
At an early age he joined Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Church in Slocum, N.C. He accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior around the age of 26. He later became a member of Joe’s Branch Free Will Baptist Church in Vanceboro, N.C. He served as an Associate Minister, member of the Down East Christian Organization, President of the YPCL, Trustee, Collector in the Old Original FWB Conference, Deacon, Drummer and Chairperson of the Trustee Board. Bishop Murray also attended New Rising Sun Bible College and Greenville Christian College where he received his Certificate in Christian Education. Bishop Murray resides in Greenville, N.C. He is the husband of one wife, Shelia H. Murray and father of one beautiful daughter, Kiera L. Murray, two Godsons Jamil Gibbs and Jayden Deese.
Bishop Murray answered the call on his life and preached his initial sermon in July 2003. In 2005 He was called to Pastor at Jobe’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in his home town of Swanquarter, NC. On May 26, 2013, Bishop Murray was consecrated as Bishop and Chief overseer of Jobe’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church Inc. of Greenville, NC. Bishop Murray is also the overseer of Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfield, NC. He also serves as the second Bishop of the Kingdom Empowerment Fellowship of Covenant Pastors of Greenville, NC, Chairperson of the Hyde County Ministerial Council for Education and Founder of United For Christ Convocation of Eastern Carolina. His greatest mentor was his father, the late Thomas Franklin Murray.
